I agree with everything said and I do believe DIG IN should be #1, XP #2, and Gambrills #3. I think Gambrills is a very good baseball team. I would love to see more tournaments being played locally at the end of the year. I know my son played high school baseball and played at a varsity level where he did not get a lot of mound time as a freshman and he is just getting back into the swing of things and did not pitch many innings for XP until the past 2 weekends. All teams will grow and get better a end of year round robin would be great maybe add in a couple of the teams that are being overlooked.

Blue Chips threw there catcher who never pitched and 2 others in the EvoShield game because it did not matter. They are a good team and truth be told Gambrills would have a tough time beating them.
You definately did not see the game between XP and DIG IN where the pitcher had 10 maybe 12 strikeouts 7 of them looking and dominated them. 8-2 win XP. Your superior line up is not what you think it is against top pitching and I have no doubt Gambrills ace #13 handled that line up.
You show up to a championship game and evaluate the game you probably showed up in the 4th inning. Superior line up was losing 2-0 until the 4th inning.
I know him and he is a very good kid and a great baseball player and he carries a lot of the load for Gambrills and he has never won against White Marsh or XP. Check the facts.Everytime we play he has most of the hits on the team.

Im out, we all take pride in our boys and I am not trying to bash another team or a player. Its baseball, every team can show up and every team can have a bad game its a team game. I dont think 1 game defines a team and we have some good baseball being played. Like the one guy said if we go down south thats where the real test begins. DHicks you have to run that by Coach Kerr Im just a fan with an with an opinion like Old Timer.

I will say this about the Gambrills kids. I have been impressed. Gambrills #1 and #2 against Dig In this season. Dig In is clearly the #1 team in 14u. Especially offensively. GAC#1 5.1IP 6H 1R 4K 1BB GAC#2 3.0IP 3H 0R 3K 0BB
The Gambrills 1 and 2 are tough. Maybe not the best in some peoples opinion, but I beg to say no 14u team has 2 better at the top of their rotation. Also their #2 is their catcher, and I know he's got to be considered the best 14u C on these top teams. We are not strong behind the plate. If he came to Dig In, wow.

Dig in 14 fan- their coach might not take kindly to your take on the teams catching situation........
To JR I stand by my statement that Dig Ins offense superior to XP. I agree XP is a tremendous team with excellent pitching and defense and teams have off games but I base my arguement on the 3 games vs WHC,LF and BCC where they scored a combined total of 13 runs. Not the same lineup without the 2 boppers they had last year. Maybe XP has a pitcher that can shut down Dig In ( a dominant pitcher at any level can shut down the best of teams) I just don’t think XPs offense compares while also saying it wouldn’t be a shock if XP beat them in a tournament down the road.
Also Gambrills catcher #2 pitcher is very good and what impresses me most is his smooth mechanically sound delivery. Some kids throw hard and seem like they are expending maximum effort to do it- he throws heat almost effortlessly it seems. Totally up to him ,his family and H.S. coach but will be interesting if he will pursue pitching or catching as he gets older

Championship game 8 runners left on base. Blues Chips 11 runners left on base. The last 2 games 19 runners left on base, Big boppers or not thats not going to get it done. The line up is just as strong with the new guys. Just did not hit in situations Dig 9 hits Xp 7. Old timer your runs scored is a valid point I guess it only matters if you get them in. And there was 20 other guys left on base in the other games. XP will be fine and hopefully they get another shot at the top teams

Johnson (Game 1) and Dello Russo (Game 2) were equally impressive. While they may not bring heat, they certainly are savvy and know how to make good hitters miss. They did a great job keeping a good portion of the Gambrills lineup from barreling balls up at key moments in games.
