Zero reach for the best players in tristate area, and Dirtbags Nat won’t help you. This is just like Diamond Pros. It’s just slapping a name on the front and paying someone else/ Andy Partin. Good luck!

Yep, saw the post on Facebook Va travel. This is Gambrills 13u moving towards Dirtbags 14u in fall. Olney changing name to Canes, Gambrills changing name to Dirtbags, and I'm sure someone like LF will change name to US Elite. The cycle continues.

This is a normal progression especially in MD. The Canes have been formed using Olney as a base team for many years and it works for them. There is not many high level National programs in MD. MARS and Rawlings. That’s about it. You need a core group to begin with. And you go from there. If Canes choose Olney and Dirtbags pair with Gambrills, this makes sense. US Elite pairing with LF is odd though. There is not many choices to play for a top program in MD, so if these 2 teams chose to base in MD i think it’s great.

Don’t forget about 5 Star is now here to. Would be nice if the best of the best could actually come together for a real showcase program in Maryland, and let People see that Maryland is putting quality Products out

Canes have done well due the the Olney tie in (curious how the Olney program feels about it) Diamond pros little success, Five Star nothing much, Rawlings has some good teams but several B teams too. Are these national programs better run or better than Dig In or team XP or API or even some HCYP teams?
Just my opinion but you need talent, coaching and exposure to if you want to get noticed for college. Nothing against playing for a nationally known program but several teams play PG, there is PBR and even baseball factory So not sure there is the appetite in Maryland for a lot of national programs.

Totally agree but let’s face it, that scenario is impossible. To have a competitive showcase high school aged team, your carrying a lot more kids, and kids that may be on the best team that don’t get as many innings would leave to be the best on another team and get a ton of innings. The only players you could try and stack would be PO’s. Relievers are always needed, and your starters would show up and throw on their days.
