im guessing teams were planning on traveling more but since covid the schedule went out the window. Many teams had to scramble and rescheduled some just decided to stay local. Either way I think we were lucky to play at all this summer. Regroup and hope for a normal season next year

Not taking anything away from DE just saying they do not have top level wins to claim to be top spot. Good team, not over the hump yet and accurately ranked at #4 They don't have top level wins? DE is the only one of these Maryland teams that went out of state and played teams from all over the country and beat their tails! Shockers stayed mostly in Fruitland mainly, not sure about WM. Shockers record wouldn't be near as good if they left out of Fruitland. Just saying! DE played top level teams out of state??? you are definitely a DE parent. The teams you played at ripken were records of 12-23-1 , 15-18-2 , 17-5 ,4-5 , 29-11-2 ( 1-4 at ripken) 25-16 (1-4 ripken) 23-10 and 32-11-2 (which you lost to) none of these teams ranked in any of their states. In other words their record was probably skewed by playing in some local league or lack of talent in their states. A lot of teams go to ripken to say they went- that isn't usually where the talented teams go- just saying DE played in 2 fruit land tourneys and so did shockers. i am not sure your argument there, and the one fruit land tourney you both played in together and played each other on sunday, it was close game 4-3. no shame there. DE is a great team but stop putting down the other teams like DE is way better - there are 3 teams that are above the rest in maryland right now (DE, Shockers and WM. the bulldogs need to prove themselves before i include them) Good luck to all on tryouts and cant wait until next year, hopefully we will have a normal year and see these teams compete against each other. That would be fun to watch.

BBC is 3-0 against DE Pasadena and until they beat them I won’t include them in this but you have those 4 teams and the rest of the field

Not a DE parent just saying they played teams from a further range of areas. I think people go to Ripken because it’s a nice park. The top teams are all great and it would be super boring if there was one stand out alone!

Looks like BBC scored 16 runs on 12 BB, 4 HBP, a balk (guess they were playing 11U rules), and 9 singles in game 1. In the second game, BBC scored 12 runs in the 6th inning on 8 walks, 1 HBP, and 6 singles. I'm guessing in non-scrimmage games you don't see that many free pbuttes, or maybe the pitchers just need to get used to pitching from 50'. BBC only had one extra base between the two games? Probably due to the 70' bases.

Sometimes score doesn't tell the whole story. How many runs did BBC score in their last tournament championship game? Perhaps an out-of-state tournament? Any idea who they're going to scrimmage next?

Who cares no one will remember what they did at 10. Unless a pitcher was over used, and the game was played legit then it doesn’t matter.
Next season real baseball begins for them, don’t have to wait for the ball to cross the plate to steal. After 12u they jump to their final destination that’s when real standings will take place.
Just find yourself a coach that can prepare your kid for high school and teaches and plays the game the right way.
No one will say I was on the #1 team in Maryland at 10. Who the hell cares

Who the hell cares Really know one cares about your opinion. I think everyone knows their 10. Only thing rankings do is give people something to talk about and coaches to use to draw better talent in. That’s why when they post flyers for tryouts they use what they are ranked. Anyway Their 10 have a great day

I do know BBC has games set up with HCYP BCCC and Rawlings A’s BBC took the spring off cause of Covid.
