And someone with common sense and knowledge of the game speaks. And Dave we are headed to at minimum 4 PG events and definitely want to head to East Cobb, but do most here even know what East Cobb is? Most know that GA is now best for PBR competition (Lake Point) and the big PG events are in FL and NC.

So don’t get on teams that play with kids with different grad years. Maybe change it from 13u to 2025 or 2026. What about the kid that’s 12 on our team? Every team goes through it at 14u where high school kids either leave a team or come back to a team later in the year. Johnny you seem to spend a lot of time knowing about our team. What team does your son play on? Do they not have 2025&2026 grad years? And just so you know we are playing multiple 14U tournaments so our 2025 kids are preparing for high school ball swinging BBCOR. Playing down hurts the development of players. If you are currently in 8th grade/2025 grad, you should be playing with a team that is comprised of your grad year and not with players that are in 7th grade. Same with players that are freshman playing with 8th graders. Makes no sense and hurts the team and player playing down. What sense does it make to have 24's on a team mixed with 25 grads? In the fall they will be missing for HS practices and games (depending on the team), and they will certainly be missing during the Spring for HS ball. Practices will be small and competing will be minimal until the high school kids are done. The 8th graders will be the ones missing out while the high school aged kids are practicing our playing monday-saturday with their hs team. Majority of the good hs coaches in Md make it a requirement to play on their summer team anyways so you may as well play your specific grad year now.

East Cobb still holds a ton of Perfect Game events and has the capability to run 13u at 54/80 or 60/90, as many southern teams play 54/80 at 13.
From what I’ve been told Lake pointe is Nicer than East Cobb, I have never been to Lake Pointe and haven’t been to East Cobb since I was 13, but many still consider East Cobb as the Mecca for youth baseball.

Again then maybe orgs and tournaments should do clbuttifying by grad years and not age. Little League -Babe Ruth, and some local rec organizations have changed the date of birth cut off from May 1 to August 30th I believe to keep kids with their graduation year. I don’t feel that kids suffer when you play a competitive schedule and also play up in tournaments to get them ready. As I stated previously that’s why we are playing at minimum 4 perfect game events in the spring, we will play MSI as they are drop 3 only and also play several local 14U events to get the 8th graders prepared. We have also scrimmaged the Dirtbags 14u team and had 8th graders guest with them to see the competition they will see next year in high school. I don’t know of any 13u team that’s totally 2026 grads. If I’m wrong please let me know. Johnny- what team does your son play for?

I see Elkridge 13U lost in the ship of a B tournament. Maryland Orioles 13U lost in the ship at Ripken to a team out of PA. They are starting to look like a legit contender in this age group. Tide 13U lost in the ship to API. API is starting to look like a legit contender as well. Gambrills 13U had another bad showing at Ripken. Going 1-1-1. Tied a Minutemen team that has been in the losers bracket the last couple tournaments. Is this GAC team is on the down slide? Looks like Olney 13U won the tourney they were in. This team is still looking for a few players. If your son is looking for a team, I would suggest going to these try outs.

The orioles will lose their best player in the spring to the Maryland Redbirds which are also taking 4 from us elite.
How can say a team is on a slide but compliment a team they just mercy ruled🤷♂️

Didn't know Gambrills beat either one of those teams. Actually lost to the O's TWICE. So not sure what your referring to???

Beating API 7-2 is not mercy rule & Suggesting going to a tryout for Olney is not completing them.

Didn’t Gambrills Mercy rule Olney in the championship the other week?
Thanks for showing us your API pride.
