Is Gambrills a community organization? Non profit?? Do they put any stock Into keeping kids playing in the community? Isn’t that the reason GAC was started? Asking these questions purely for clarification. 1948 called. They need you back to coach the community based team. |

Asking these questions purely for clarification. You should bring your kid out to tryout for the newest community based team for the 2021-22 season. We will be called the Maryland Swamp Donkeys. Tryouts will be on July 30th and August 2nd at the Severn Run Church in Severn MD. Please contact head coach Roy Johnson at SwampdonkeyUSA@yahoo.com or call me (Tim) at 410-867-5309. We will be carrying 13 players, all skill levels welcome. C’mon out if you want tot take your baseball experience to Swamp Donkey levels. Do it!! |

So many of you have so much to learn and WILL have your eyes opened when your little Joey gets to high school. What is gonna happen when your little Joey is a junior or senior and a freshman takes his place? Or what if your little Joey goes into Chesapeake and takes Timmy’s spot when Joeys a Freshman? Are you gonna say no coach no Timmy is a senior my Hoey can’t take his spot? F no your not.... grow up parents like you wanna be dads that are truly Karen’s inside need to teach your kids to earn and compete.

A group of kids who will be used to competing and ready to fend off little Joey when he tries to take their spot. We have the best development coaches around. who cares how many players were there from 9u and on? Isn't the goal of a travel team to build and get better every year? If they had little Johnny's who left after they realized they need to play on a B team instead, is that their fault? Is that team losing a few players? yes. How about other teams, is GAC the only team that had 8th graders? But my understanding is that team has a core of 7 solid 2026-ers. So they should still be a great team after they add a few pieces for next year. Whoever started this post was itching to start a thread about this. Because you have nothing else to say. Why not give credit to a team that flat out dominated this year? Name a team in MD that was better this season? You can't. 7?? yeah no. And actually we do have 7 2026s coming back... and several 2025s will re join the team once their high school season is over. Tryouts will get July 13th and 20th if you want the opportunity to take your student/ athlete to the next level and ensure they are ready for high school and beyond. |

Timmy What’s your credentials? Who’s your player development coach ? My credentials are rather modest. I coached my 4u team and took them to the Tee-Ball world series in FL but lost to a team from GA with re-clbutted players. They were all 7 or older graduating the same year as my TRUE 4u boys. Oh well. We played in TN until this year and now we're bringing the Swamp Donkey way of baseball to you Maryland boys. 2021-22 14u Swamp Donkeys. Just you wait. We're coming. |

Good luck Tim maybe we can get a game in just don’t back out like other programs that say they wanna play they best then schedule a game then back out last minute or sign up to play a perfect game event and don’t show.

There are exceptions but in my opinion travel baseball is a lot of fun until 12u for most kids.
Then things can change. The big field makes things boring at times at 13 and 14 and some kids who were solid players on a 50/70 field can no longer succeed.
Then many teams break up ( partly because the stupid baseball policy of using age cutoffs instead of grade level)
Then most really good kids start to play on showcase teams or try to form super teams so they can compete regionally.
By 15-16 it’s mostly showcase teams and B teams with a few teams somewhere in between trying to hang on.
By then depending on your high school that becomes the focus.
So while I’m not saying that once a kid reaches 13u the game is no longer fun I am suggesting those with younger kids enjoy the 12u and under experience while it lasts.
