Dawson couldn't be the new Juan. At least Juan knows the game. Apparently Dawson got booted from GAC for multiple reasons. All of that is coming out now. I mean look what has come out already. Mean 11 year old kids that cuss at their opponents and put them down during competition, parents that yell and scream at the opposing team on the sidelines, a head coach that has been with 4 teams in 4 years. Rawlings, give yourself a pat on the back. You have a winner.

As someone who’s son played against this team when they were Gambrills and Rawlings, you couldn’t be more wrong from what I have seen. I don’t know what happened against Gambrills but Derrick and his coaching staff are always preaching positivity during games. If a player on our team made a great play, their team and coaches would say “nice play” or “great job”. They have/had (not sure now) a pitcher with a great change up. One of our batters sat back on it and put it into Right Center. As soon as he reached first one of the parents (a big guy) said “great hit, way to sit back on that pitch”. Obviously I don’t know about their practices but I have seen them play at least a dozen times against my sons team. As for the players, my son has never complained about them. He got hit by a pitch once and the pitcher came over and made sure he was ok. Another player on our team got hurt and their SS yelled “take a knee” so his team would show respect. I watched their catcher come out in the first inning and introduce himself to the umpire and give him a fist bump.
Accusing someone of giving a child steroids? Attacking the coaching? Attacking the players? You sound like pissed off little men who never made it. You come on these forums to post anonymously because you’re afraid of the backlash. You’re pathetic. - David S

My son played for Gambrills 5 years ago. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. The most overrated daddy ball organization in Maryland. Their 13U this pbuttes year was great. Other than that, they have been mediocre at best. I don’t Know about the current situation.

The current GAC14u team has been very average through the years and “built” their team through recruiting. They can say they didn’t but every parent on this team knows the truth. That is all we will remember this team for. Not development in my opinion. |

You guys are referencing 10-11 year old baseball players so that should first should make you uneasy. Second of all the gambrills team is a decent ball club and so is Rawlings. I highly doubt the Rawlings shortstop is on steroids. The gambrills club is a clbutt act besides the leadership which have never played baseball and may have never had a positive athletic moment in their life. They are daddy ball all the way and claim coach Juan who is a left handed catching coach. He's their saving grace and if he's still great he would be Coaching high school baseball but he's not. He's stealing your money and talking to you parents about baseball while you pay for your daughter or son to work out. My advice would be a scrimmage against both of these teams you all talk so badly about.

Couldn’t wait to get out of the Gambrills organization! They are Daddy ball to the highest degree. They will lie through their teeth and smile in your face. The last thing they care about is the kids or development. It’s a real shame what a ty experience we had. Thankful to have moved on when we did.

What is the vetting process for organizations or leagues when hiring a coach or even a volunteer coach? Background checks, case search. I buttume it has to be a thorough investigation since coaches are with young children? I cant imagine API, Rawlings, Gambrills, or any organization not doing there do diligence.
