There is alway more to the story. Let it go. Enjoy the holidays with your family and stop worrying about 12u baseball. We all know who keeps posting this stuff. His name is always in the middle of the pot.

to be upset because a family went to play baseball for fun in another state in the month of December when you’re not missing any team activities is just weak. a power trip move that didn’t need to happen. what’s next. players can’t play other sports. (clearly being sarcastic)

(clearly being sarcastic) Wooden is a old school guy. Likes things old school. Not for the new school. I know when my son played for him at 9u you were not allowed to play for any team when in a contract. We had to sign a contract. Mike is a awesome coach there is no doubt about it one of the best at 12u but if a parent did go play else where in that contract he has a right to terminate the contract. Do i think its right ? Being that its really out of season No but as the other person stated so ignorantly Its his team he can do what he wants. Again coaches do things differently. Some coaches are ok with it.

Wayne
The issue i have here is the kid is 11 playing up for the 12u B team but also plays for an 11U 5tar team year around and it’s never been an issue.
Now the kid is seen and is asked by another team to play in December in Florida it becomes an issue.
Can’t allow it all season then in off season renig on it.

Regarding the post above... are you serious? A contract that states the player cannot play anywhere else around the season/practices? Mike sounds like a pretty insecure coach to me. What is he going to do at 13 and up? Players should be able to attend showcases and other events in the offseason without fear of losing their spot on the Fall/Summer team. Sorry, that is not "old school" it is just moronic. What is even more moronic is signing something like that. BBC (which is what the coach is acting like right now) is not the only competitive team at that age level, so good luck keeping your best players at the older age levels. At least the players who want to play baseball outside of the State of Maryland, which is by no means a competitive area when comparing to teams from FL, GA, AL, NC, TX, and CA. Sounds to me like Mike is trying to channel his inner Pat O'Malley or something like that. Not a good look.

Those teams are pretty equally yoked if you saw them compete/practice this fall. Pretty special situation that may now be ruined. Couple other families are leaving.

So you go into fall with a BBC B Team, and potentially go into winter with no B team at all.

If the parents were going to leave they would have years ago. They have bought in to his system and how things are ran. I will say it was a great experience and my son enjoyed his time there at 9u. Had a opportunity to go back and play with Rich and the B or regional team but my son and I decided Spartan Warriors was Whats best for his growth as a player.
