I come on here to talk arm care, development, strength/conditioning (do you j-bands boys!), sports psychology and, of course, check out THOSE RANKINGS!!! Check out coach Dana Cavalea and what he has to say about arm care, strength and conditioning etc. He was with the Yankees when they won the WS. I’ve seen him speak twice, most recently with the Rioken’s at their recent coaching forum at Navy-Marine stadium. He is great and every team should be introducing his program and philosophies

Olney won the USSSA this weekend. LakeShore lost a tough game to Mid Maryland in the last inning. Hate time limit in elimination games.

Again, I will ask how the weekend went?? Who did what? Sound off!!! Is Tide still on top? Gambrills beat HCYP Blue 13-12 off a blown call. But it was just a scrimmage. If u care.

Annapolis open was a great weekend of ball. Tristate Arsenal (New Jersey) took the ship over LakeShore 6-2. LakeShore best Gambrills in the Semis in a great game winning by 2. The Tristate arsenal team was just on a different level with their starting pitcher sitting 66-68 and topping out at 70 on the gun.
Looks like Olney who was not in Annapolis open won 2 games one against Hickory and one against RBA.
Looking forward to real baseball weather and seeing pitchers arms streatched out and quality ball.

Tide split with Chesapeake Blue Claws and MD Orioles... Blue Claws are a gritty team coming back to win against Tide in the bottom of the 6th.
I agree with saraullo, real pitching and tournaments starting up will show who is ready to go!
Olney Tide LS
Is the top three right now...

Just throwing out a team from Central MD that many probably have not considered. Mid Maryland United 11U topped LS twice in a tournament format, and played Olney tough twice losing 4-2, and 8-4. Their only other losses were to VA teams.

Mid Maryland is a gritty team who scraps and has beat us 2 times both very close games. Did Olney loose players from last year? Seems like a lot of low scoring games for them so far.

This weekend should be fun. And to clear it up I am a coach on Tide 11u. Steve, Of course we lead off the Upper Chesapeake playing you all first. Go figure. I'm excited that tournament season is upon us now. These rankings are fun and I have a ton of opinions on who should and shouldn't be ranked. But it is all in fun. This is a great age group with alot of great teams that make it a blast to play in. By the way for those interested, i'm not putting on the tournament but we are playing, come on down and play..... I'm always open to playing everyone out there. www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=calverttideBTW, they aren't in MD but there is really only one team that is on a completely different level from, in my opinion, all of the teams in MD. The VA Stars (Camp) are as legit as it comes. We get to bump with them again this year in a PG tourney. They are impressive across the board.

Virginia Stats camp is no doubt an amazing team! They no hit Olney last year. Every pitcher has amazing mechanics and usually don’t walk more than 1-2 hitters a game. I would say though that’s a tri-state arsenal (national) is by far the best team I’ve seen. Their starting pitcher sat 66-70 for 3 innings. Every pitcher they threw in the Championship was 64 plus. Cathchers called their own game and top to bottom they hit better than Virginia Stars. We will see them (ranked 25th Nationally) and New Jersey Axmen (27th nationally) at sports at the beach. Virginia Stars does have the shortstop who was sitting at 70 last year at 10. Love seeing the higher competition, don’t get better playing weaker teams.
