That has to be the dumbest response I’ve heard on this thread ouch, if that’s all you think about MLB players than you are an idiot. And if my response made you laugh than than you are an even bigger idiot. Never said bunting isn’t a part of the game, right time, right situation, totally agree, so since their only 11, we’re not supposed to teach our kids to play above that. Good luck bunting like that in 2 years on the big boy diamond which by the way is the MLB field size which you probably didn’t know judging by your response. Let me know when soneone like mike trout bunts at the plate with 0 outs and a guy on 2nd

Most of the time people that say “it’s not real baseball” are those with limited baseball experience and teaching ability. Instead of fixing it, they resort to name calling and excuses. Hey dudes, baseball is more than just hitting, pitching and fielding. To the yahoo that brought up the idea of training to be like an MLBguy for an 11U, you just made us all laugh. Thanks for that Real baseball starts at 13u, field dimensions are real...but hunting is indeed fundamental baseball and so is defense of getting outs when the other team bunts

Keep it real, I said above I encourage any team to bunt against us. It is easy to defend with no slashing. I have no issue with it or care as it’s not my team. I am simply pointing out the realities of high school and college which is what one is trying to develop into.

Here in lies the problem. This is an ego issue. Everyone wants their kid to hit bombs like let’s use mike trout since he was used above. Did you know Mike Trouts first career hit was a bunt? It’s all situational. Maybe your 3-4 hitter is having a bad game and just not seeing the ball well out of the slot of a certain pitcher and it’s late in the game and you need that runner squeezed in or moved over, are you saying your above bunting him? And who said there’s no slash bunts at 11u? Sports At The Beach there is...
Why do major league teams practice bunt defense in spring training? Why because it’s a part of the game. And to be honest maybe if people would go back to stop trying to just hit tatters the strike out ratio in the MLB wouldn’t be the highest in the history of the game. The squeeze is one of the most exciting plays. Coaching is a chess match sometimes, even at 11u. Funny when parents laugh when their team gets squeezed in and say well you never taught how to defend it.... time to look your self in the mirror and teach the game.

No ego issue here. I said I would embrace it. And if a team at 11 is willing to slash on a 60 or 70 field then those coaches are ok with having a shot of killing a kid. If 3/4 hitters are slumping, maybe change the lineup? Trout has plus speed which I said above is great for fast kids. The problem is folks on here not reading the threads. They get defensive because they have no high level of experience. Talk to coach Camp with the Stars or someone like that has both experience and develops his kids. The major leagues and colleges practice cuz guys are throwing 90+ and pitchers blow at hitting so they bunt 75% of the time when the situation dictates.

The 4 hitter in our game had had a great weekend, but he wasn’t seeing the balk well against that specific pitcher, don’t know why but just wasn’t seeing it well. Can’t switch in the middle of the game.

Any coach at 11u that bunts that much and bats 9 in their lineup is a freaking joke. Use all the excuses you want but you are not developing and preparing your kids for the next level. The base running crap I’ve seen the LS teams pull for years is the best. True test of coaching is sending these kids on to play HS baseball. This garbage does nothing to help them achieve that goal. But hey, you got a $3 trophy for winning a local tourney with zero talent. Lol. Keep grinding you bunt-a-holics. Lol. Joke.

Any weekend updates?
Maryland crush and lakeshore showed down in an amazing matchup in the USSSA tournament. Huge props to their ace who held us to nothing til the last inning. LakeShore came back in the bottom of the 6th to win. Was a great showdown between 2 great pitchers, as lakeshore was held to just 2 hits til the last inning and Lakeshores second pitcher gave up no hits over 3 2/3. Was a great played game, and I don’t think LakeShore bunted once Incase anyone was wondering.

Diesel you hit the nail on the head! Great group of kids coaches and parents. When 2 teams can play a double dip and then have a cook out together and the kids play like they have known each other forever and the parents throw back some cold ones and have a big feast, that’s showing the meaning of good sportsmanship and having fun .
Shockers just plain out hit the ball!!!!
