Has anyone played the local USSSA tournaments? Are they ran well? When is the schedule usually released? Any input would be great !

The USSSA event was early in March and it was cold, but that is not USSSA's fault. The Blandair Regional Park complex is nice but 11u did not play at that location. We played at Troy Park, which is turf and has lights but they are football fields or soccer fields, etc.- mixed use turf, they put those cheap orange fencing up about 175 feet or less around first and third. It was not ideal for baseball but the kids had fun so I think that's often a coach or parent issue. |

I meant to say in the outfield between first and third baseline...for the orange fence- the wind was blowing it over and the refs were not fixing it.

Just my opinion but not one of better run tournaments I have been to. Not the most organized,some of the fields aren’t the best and short time limits come to mind as the negatives.
If your based in AA ,Howard or Montgomery county it is at least convenient.
Not sure about schedule , one of benefits of playing USSSA is schedules and rosters online but not sure if always case here.
Nothing wrong with making a buck but I have been to several other local tournaments (run by volunteers) that were run better

Only beef with it is 14u does not have to use BBCOR and sometimes they combine 13u and 14u. 14u is only required to use -5’s.

They are garbage. Poor scheduling; cheap fencing at Boys and Girls Club location; no one was staffed there most of the weekend. No one asked us about the “home run derby” and skills competition so i guess that didn’t happen.
Scheduled HUGE gaps between games, and changed playoff schedule for no reason. Schedule a 4/5 game for 8am yet the meaningless consolation game is 10am. Makes no sense. Last time we do one.
