Interesting outcome in 14U-Dig In forfeited the final Because they were out of pitching. Never heard of this before.

If you run out of pitching than you run out. Smart decision vs overusing 14-year-Old arms. Saw two 14-year-Old kids throw 100 plus in one game this weekend.
Dig-In must be disappointment but the coaching staff and parents understand the bigger picture.

Congrats to Dig In (Coaches, Players, Parents). Protecting arms. Don’t know many teams that would do this which is sad. Guaranteed these are ex college baseball players that are coaching and truly get it.

The 13u bracket won by a very stacked Warstic team. Saw a lot of their kids in the spring / fall under some different organizations and knew they’d be a force when they played together. Very solid fundamentals for their ages and lots of fun to watch.

Not to give the wrong impression. The Warstic team wasn’t buttembled just for this tournament. From what I’ve seen, they’ve been together for a while but periodically a couple kids play as guests here and there so there’s some added “watch” time when that happens.

His job to run his team as he sees best so no criticism From me . And while if my sons team faced a similar situation I wouldn’t have A problem forfeiting I know some crazy parents who would not be happy. Real issue is having a team play 7 games in 2 days

My Canes team lost to Citius in the final. They are a great team and will compete nationally. They won Cooperstown last year and merged with another team. The killer was losing the winners bracket final to them 6-5 had the tying run on second. Tough to come back after burning another 7 innings of pitching. We were actually missing a couple of top arms/players as well. Fantastic tournament and top notch competition.
