Please do not allow your parents to yell out to an opposing 11-12 year old pitcher, "he's rattled" over and over again.
This tournament is centered around Sportsmanship and Character.
Coaches, please remind your parents and players about keeping the chatter directed towards their own team.

I have not been on this site before, but I was directed to this post earlier this evening, by another parent from the MD Crush 11U team. I am not sure if this post is from an Olney 11U coach or parent, but I just wanted to take ownership the ‘rattled’ comments behind our 1B side bench, during the pitcher’s mound discussion in the final game. First of all, I want to give you my word, that there was no malicious intent, nor was I attempting to target or intimidate any opposing players, in any way, shape, or form. Those fields were very close quarters, and I was just rallying our boys on the bench, during a situation in which they had some general momentum against what was clearly a very good opponent. That being said, and from reading this comment, I can certainly understand how it might have been interpreted differently by the Olney side. So, that is 100% noted & has registered. I’d like to apologize to the Olney team, coaches & families, if it was received as being negative in any fashion and/or directed toward your players. That was in no way the intent, in the moment, and I want to make sure that I relay that, especially if it came across that way to any of your boys. It is also not reflective of the MD Crush team, coaches, families, or players, in how we support our team & boys. The Olney team is a great team, extremely well coached, they can really swing the bats, up & down the lineup, and they have some stellar arms, both on the mound & in the field. Congrats to your team on a great tournament, and again, that comment was completely on me, and no one else, and if it was taken negatively by your side, I hope that you’ll accept this apology, and I would also be happy to discuss directly. Best of luck to your team, for the remainder of the 2019 season.

Good for you Matt. Well said and it sounds like you were just pumping your team up in the spirit of competition. It's good to see in this day and age people who are accountable. I have run into similar situations when there are no dugouts per say that have walls, sometimes what you say to your team isn't meant to be heard by anyone outside the dugout. This seems like one of those cases. Keep coaching these boys up into good young men. At this level, wins & losses don't matter as much as the boys understanding the game and taking away some life lessons in the process. Good luck the rest of the way out.

Matt
I give you a lot of credit for being a man and not hiding behind a fake name and coming straight out. We have all been caught up in the moment and said things louder than were Intended.
