We, Tide 11U, play PG tournaments every year. Mid-Atlantic Red Sox played in the one we were in this year. That statement about MD teams not playing in those because of pitching restrictions is extremely erroneous and unwarranted in my opinion. If it were true it would be one thing but it isnt. The problem, in my opinion, is that there currently aren't any events in MD that are relatively local. VSC is closer for us but other teams dont' want to go that far for a tournament that the intentionally keep small. I am open to whatever pitching restrictions. We have played with pretty much every pitching restrictions tournaments offer whether it be innings, PG pitch counts, USSSA innings, or Babe Ruth pitch count restrictions. Have never balked at any of them. The only problem with some pitching restrictions, mostly innings, are, like manbun said, we had a kid go a CG in 60 pitches over the weekend. I would rather do it by pitch counts but again this leads some teams to burn kids and work their numbers higher than normal so they can save others. It is a double edged sword. It comes down to coaches taking care of their pitching staff, plain and simple. Couldn't agree more on this comment. I've don't know a coach in MD or any other state for that matter who picks and chooses tourneys based on their pitch count rules. Everyone picks and chooses for other variety of reasons and just deals with the rules as they are what they are from venue to venue. Cost of PG is more than just the cost of the entry fee - it's the cost of the travel and proximity of the venues offered as compared to SATB, ACBaseball, Triple Crown, FSTourneys, ECTB and some of MD/PA/NoVA local orgs tourneys (where everyone knows a few good teams will be present) at these younger ages.

How are Pasadena Eagles ranked in top 10 of 10u at 13-2? Unless there's a bunch of games hidden somewhere not on GameChanger?
Speaking of GameChanger... BCC Big Train 10u somehow beats Emmorton 10u 41-0 and 40-0 on 8 pitches in GameChanger. Seems a little off...

Most part I agree. Not completely with where some of those teams are but MD Orioles and HCYP should not be on that list. Mid Atlantic Shockers and Mid Atlantic Redsox are much better than those teams in my opinion. MD Orioles have turned it on the second half of this season but have to show more consistancy against bigger name teams. Honestly we have lost the last two times we have played the Aces, they should be above us right now. Either way, Olney is the best team in the state until proven otherwise in my opinion. Leads me back to this conversation......tournament next year anyone? ??

My opinion on 11u rankings: Olney Pirates Calvert Tide Delmarva Aces East RBA Royals Elkridge Hurricanes Orange RBA Royals Gambrills Lake Shore Graysox Maryland Orioles HCYP Raiders Blue A few issues with this list. RBA is so good they get ranked twice.... nice. Is this list made by an eyo coach/parent? They need to be way down the list seeing as they just lost to a B team. Lake shore has beat aces and gambrills everytime they have played this year so...... Where is MD Crush?

Not every team on this list have played each other, and this age group is so close compared to most of the other age groups. Bottom line it’s any given day with these teams.
Here’s my list
1- Olney— nothing needs to be said 33-13 2- Shockers Gaylor—- mike please take the kids out of SATB and play on a bigger field and let’s see what happens not on 200ft fences- but has beat Tide LS and Gambrills 3- RBA Royals (yes they lost to a Gambrills, but in a scrimmage... finished 2nd in crab tourney) 4- Tide ( yes they lost to Delmarva but their showing in tennessee makes up for it) 5- Lakeshore- beat tide in championship 3 weeks ago and aces 6- Aces - beat tide lost to Lakeshore 7- Gambrills - 2 Ripken championship games last 3 weeks won 1 38-9-1 record 8- Elkridge ( great showing in NC beating Rip city who is a great ball club) but also lost to Olneys b team this weekend) 29-9 record 9- Maryland Crush ( team that can battle w anyteam on the list) 31-14 record 10- BCCC seems to be making huge strides and winning ball games —- seems like 2nd half of season have some big wins 25-15 record
No one will be happy if their team isn’t first————- but atleast I don’t hide behind a screen name.... you know who I am

Thats a solid list Steve... I'll take top 4 in the State! (even though I think we are top 2 LOL)
great season 41-15, few 'ships and semi finals, few duds and an amazing run against some solid competition from all over the country at Ripken PF. Boys were on a mission just came up a little short. Enjoy the off season and see some of yall during the fall and spring!
Come down to Calvert next summer and lest play this out on the fields!

MD baseball was viewed as a joke up north and down south back in the late 80's/early 90's when I played competitively. Not so much anymore! This area is producing a lot of talented ball players and every team on this top 10 list is capable of beating one another. That says a lot. Keep an eye on what happens at C-town next week. A lot of good MD teams going up to represent. I know Olney 12u is going and they are killing it this season. 66-3 thus far and I just watched them beat the Brooklyn Blue Storm at Ripken yesterday, 8-7. Gambrills 12u is going that same week and McNally's team is hot right now too.
We just wrapped up our season. Looking forward to a break and curious to see what 12u will bring this fall...
Have a great rest of the summer fellas! ~Lee

Olney Aces East Tide RBA Shockers LS Elk Crush Gambrills BCCC I would move Gambrills above Crush and Elkridge. Gambrills beat Crush 3 times (7-3,7-2 and 15-4) and beat Elkridge both times they played (6-2 and 7-6).

My opinion on 11u rankings: Olney Pirates Calvert Tide Delmarva Aces East RBA Royals Elkridge Hurricanes Orange RBA Royals Gambrills Lake Shore Graysox Maryland Orioles HCYP Raiders Blue Accidentally ranked RBA twice, sorry. #4 should be Shockers Gaylor, 6 should be Gambrills, 7 should be RBA and 9 should be Maryland Crush. Totally forgot abt Maryland Crush and Maryland Shockers Gaylor. My apologies.
