What a wild weekend of baseball. As always it seems that a Lakeshore vs Calvert Tide game goes as a wild ride, but this weekend Lakeshore came out on top. Now with that this was one of the craziest games I’ve seen. Pitchers had no choice but to throw the ball down the cock and hope their defense made plays. It was the tightest zone I’ve seen called. Also shout out to Tides 10 year old SS straight baller and leader and their catcher. Kid is flat out silly and has talent well past his age.
Saw RBA battled tight with Olney and came out on top, but didn’t see if they won the stacked tourney in Pittsburgh . Gambrills won their first at Ripken last night in their Sunday -Tuesday tourney, and shout out to PG for the upset over the Crush who have been a very very solid team all year.
Maybe we need to start giving kids shout outs for solid performances and not always get on here and act like we’re back in high school.
Throw the weekends updates.

RBA lost to PGH Outlaws by 2 runs (only loss of weekend). After 2 jacks they decided to IBB our 4 hitter who had a hot bat w/2 men on and they came away 2 runs ahead after the game. Their defense shined a little more than ours as well. Good coaching on their part...had to tip the hat. They went on to slaughter out the and win the tourney. So close, but so far away, for both RBA and Olney. Such is life in baseball. Was a great weekend. Tommy and his boys actually beat Outlaws by 1 run in seeding rounds in a game that mattered to ensure advancement (essentially it was like a playoff game at that point). My view on the tourney was Olney, RBA, PGH Outlaws, NC Dirtbags (their top team of 3) and MA Show were top teams there and some heavyweight fights on our side of bracket left the last one standing to cruise to the championship. There were some other quality clubs out of MI, OH, NC that several of us faced. Fun weekend of baseball for sure.

Also - in the quarters and beyond fences were 220 at lines and 12 feet high all the way around so a little more realistic in terms of being able play something between singles and home runs. Still some great shots hit/HR's but it wasn't mi city and score the HR on a mi baseball. Game vs. Olney I cannot shout out to anyone but the entire team. It was anyone's game. We had one of our injured players back and more pitching and the ump had a variety bag of a strike zone (opposite of what LS/Tide seemed to have faced...to the extreme opposite). Always a privilege to be on the field w/those boys from Olney.

The fields at Calvert were mens softball fields so a solid 300-320. If we were playing at sports at the beach the score may of been close to 42-38. There were some balls absolutely torched. Lakeshore had a kid fly out to left field on what was probably a 250-270ft flyball. Also shout out to Dave (manbun), the pitch calling yesterday was silly. Let’s throw a 3-0, and 3-1 curve ball and then run a heater under my boys hands.

Thanks for the kind words Steve. Jacob said thanks for the shoutout btw. Definitely an interesting game last night. If you ever told me that our Tide team would be in a game with 32 combined runs, 6 innings in 2 hours and 45 minutes with a combined 329 pitches I would laugh at you. But there we were last night in a hell of a grind with two teams of worn out kids. Great game and good weekend of ball. I saw the RBA/Olney game, love seeing great baseball. We are TN bound for the week of July 4th, where is everyone playing this week?

RBA taking our first weekend off this weekend (46 games in right now), then we run up a scrimmage w/Gambrills on Tues and we head to Kentucky for a full week as well. Heading to SATB for my 15u son this weekend and catch a little breather. Good luck in TN and good luck to everyone else out there in the early July season wraps. I think Hickory guys were Omaha (how epic is that for the kids with college WS!?) and then down to Pigeon Forge. Can't wait to hear about all the venues and how everyone does.

Bccc warriors continued to improve. We played some of our best baseball of the year. Going 5-0 against some quality teams to win the Turn-two Ripken experience tournament over the weekend. We are thankful to have played in the Crab league this year. Playing against the best teams week in and week out has definitely help our kids develop. We can’t wait to do it again next year.
