I visit this board from time to time and all i see is a small pocket of teams mentioned...we played in the cap clbuttic this week...and The mighty 14u Elkridge hurricanes(MABA) lost to the Crofton Cardinals(CBA) Maba and Crab leagues are great leagues but to discount Cba is absurd... Maybe top to bottom the team in the former are better but there are good players in the cba as well.. And i think this blogs dicredits this...by losting and ranking the same teams....some team dont play in Crab or Maba because of travel....also this is baseball not basketball....nobody hits all the time nobodys pitches and plays shutdown D all the time...just fyi

7 of 15 teams at 14u in CBA have losing records. What studs should we be looking at?

The best 14u teams in the state didn’t play in a league!
Look at the top 6-10 and you’ll see that.

True...with both replies... my sons team just started this year so we struggled this season...seen team xp evo amd mid red sox.....decent teams lost to xp badly actually. But there are a lot of players on cba teams that can start for the top dog teams commonly mentioned...Best pitcher we seen this year played for South river going to spaulding....not taking away from what any teams are doing...but get out of the names and watch baseball...not just gamechanger

How did Crofton do the rest of the tournament? Teams have off games and while this result surprising I have seen more instances at 14U where things like this happen( and where much more talented teams barely beat teams you think they would run rule in the past)
MABA probably doesn’t have a top ten team but if you did a top 20 I think you would find 6-7 teams ranked. CBA maybe 1 if you are being generous.
There are some good players in CBA and MABA D2 and there are several MABA D1 players who any top ten team would love to have.
Dont doubt some CBA kids could also.
Some kids play on their local team some play on the best team possible and many play somewhere in between. No right or wrong.

So are you guys saying no good kids play in the cba.....thats crazy...it takes a team to win.....what i notice thw parents at this age in particular are mire cincerned with team wins...as oppose to player development...if im the 13 player on a maba team....does that make me a good player....cmon now....dont know kids names...but know. Avihple kids going to dematha from s. River...couple going to riverdale baptiat2 from full count and so on

Only kid i know is parker something south river...going to Spaulding...but as a dad how would i know what school kids not on my team are going too....i guess u think every cba kid is dont wit baseball this year huh?

No one is saying there are bad kids in Cba. MABA is barely any better than cba. The top team in MABA was cba last year and all the years before. There best player is an Key school rising freshman. Parker Thomas is also pretty good but mostly gonna be a pitcher only at the high school level. Great pitcher, decent fielder, but no so great at the plate. Kid from Calvert tide named Niko going to msj and he is also the real deal. Can run, hit, and has a great arm. There is also a kid from Elkridge going to msj that can play the corners. Msj is going to be stacked with the rising stars they have. Also getting a kid from pal that has hit 72 on the mound this spring.
