Don't know the kids names on whitemarsh but they are a solid team. I also feel Hickory doesn't get the respect they deserve. We played them twice at Sports at the beach and both were close games. Semis was a 1 run game both teams had complete games by their starters, pool play was a 5 run game.

I saw the Tide just had a nice long weekend tourney win down in NC and is rep'ing nicely out of the state/region. Lake Shore in Ohio to wrap summer. Manchester (we) finished up in NJ, PA and then West Virginia (Bridgeport/Morgantown). Won 2 of the 3 tournaments finished at 41-11 for the spring/summer season (losses to legit/renegades combo team out of NJ, VA Stars, Calvert and split with 11u and 12u SW York A teams in scrimmages). MA Red Sox were on fire up in PA I think they are top 5 for sure but we missed the chance to play those guys and Olney A/Pirates this year. Whatever it's worth that's how we stacked up this season...it was fun once all the rain finally stopped!
Seems like this topic is quieting down, which is fine by me, and everyone is representing MD really nicely in all of the places they are going to end the summer.
Good luck to those still finishing up and looking forward to keeping in touch over the summer/fall and an exciting 11u campaign ahead. Hope all of your boys are ending the season on a high note and staying healthy.

So how do the teams stack up at the end of the season? Top 10 anyone?

I still think Olney Pirates are #1 and Calvert Tide is #2. I like what I saw from HCYP the last few weeks, beating a lot of good teams. Manchester had a very good season, losing only to top tier teams and winning multiple championships. Lake Shore is not finished yet as they are in Ohio now. I saw Delmarva had a tough time with Olney Pirates at SATB but then again it’s Olney and they are super tough. I’d rather wait till end of July to really iron it out as the seasons come closer to an end.

I agree with the bun on #1 and #2. The top 10 teams in this age group are very talented and weekend to weekend it seems like a new team catches everyone's attention to be in the discussion for top 10. In my opinion, the top 5 teams pull away fairly consistently from the others (this is based on what I have seen, opinion only) because:
- They have some x-factor players that are probably top 10 in the state with 4 or 5 of the 5 tools - if they are on they can carry a team. Kids that would be a top 3 player on just about any team they played on this list with. Olney may have several of these players. - They have depth at every defensive position (several quality catchers and 2 to 3 at all positions on the field without much of a drop off as they rotate pitching/catching guys) - They have quality arms beyond their to 2 or 3 even at the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th game in a weekend if they get into larger scale events with tough draws - Coaching (argue if you'd like, I have seen some good coaches and some bad coaches this year...and some talented teams that I scratch my head wondering why they were not better - lack of discipline in some cases (many from out of state up north so there is no underlying reference here!) - and it's painful to see some of the dysfunction already at 10u - the game is teaching these boys about life...it's in our hands as coaches)
Several teams are close to this but they may lack one of the items above and still look awesome in a 1 game or 2 game shootout. Top 5 IMO have the things above in addition to winning championships, having good records, beating all of the teams they should beat, and winning some head to head against other top 10 teams (and when losing doing so in close baseball games).
Sidebar on the coaching note I have to give some credit to coach Kurlz over at PG. That team was a train wreck 2 years ago and I think he is doing great things with them and they are one of the most improved teams in the last 2 years that we have seen. Not saying they are in the discussion here but I love what he is doing with those boys. I love playing them because of watching what he has and is doing with them.

I still feel like that the Shockers 10u Lambrose team is being over looked for the top 10. That team is at 36-10 record for the year. The team has won several tournaments this year and also has beat teams in your top 10 including Diamond pros and also beat M.A.S Gaylor in the championship at S.A.T.B I believe it was the same weekend they beat White Marsh. I totally agree with everyone as far as this is a very talented age group of kids and I'm excited for the future for all of them. Just think 10u Lambrose needs to be ranked.

Yes i said it before, mas lambrose does deserve some recognition, quality team and can hang or beat anyone in the top ten. Looks like lake shore got knocked out in Ohio by diamond pros, who ended up double dipping the #1 seed Ohio bombers to take the championship, another team that doesn't get enough recognition, I see they have been in the top ten but nobody really talks about them on a daily

Diamond Pros played solid ball all week in Ohio and did double dip the Bombers to bring home the hardware. Congrats to them.
