I was on the Showcase Baseball Banter & Brags Facebook page, and just saw that gambrills now has Juan Palacios on their squad. Juan is well known as he is an buttistant coach at Spalding High School and is known for player development at the barn with big name players. He even is looking to draw out of state players for tournaments in NC Florida and Texas next year. Seems like Gambrills is on the recruiting war path and trying to build an elite Maryland showcase team. Can't hate em for trying to build a great team and let others see that Maryland truly does have great baseball.
Spoke to another dad at my sons practice and he stated he had talked to a Gambrills dad who said they have 3 kids sitting 68-73, and that 2-3 kids are hitting it over the 90 foot diamond fence. The dad also told me that he was told the practice at Gambrills was ran like a college program. Said that you would know the kids had a brake from covid. With that said we all know some like to expand on the truth, but if this is true Gambrills seems to be ahead of the game for next year jumping onto the 90 foot diamond.
I will definitely be taking my son there to tryout, will be interesting to see how many show up with them being a great team already and bringing in one of the best player development coaches around in Juan Palacios.

Hey Football Coach- this is Lee, I am the head coach of the rising 13u Gambrills team. Everything you stated above is accurate. We have officially partnered with Juan Palacios to take over player development for the entire 13u season and hopefully beyond.
I will be posting tryout information later today. We will also be inviting players to come to our practices throughout the rest of June and into July. Two formal tryouts will be held a week before we go to South Carolina (the last week in July) and then another (if needed) the week after we get back. Turning the page to 13u starting 8/1. We will not be taking a break in August. A full Fall season with 25 games (Perfect Game, Diamond Nation, Triple Crown) will be played starting Labor Day weekend. Scrimmages and round robins vs. local teams throughout August to get acclimated to the 90'.
If you are interested in a look before tryouts, please e-mail or call me: coachleeblades@gmail.com / 443-336-8744

Hey Bill you must be one of the salty ones who are just upset so many parents are bringing their kids to our program.
So many people on here hide behind fake names, if this board could do one thing better, they should eliminate people having the ability to post under fake names.

Sorry posted under my old name and forgot I cut my hair. I didn’t know people were salty about people going to Gambrills. Juan is a nice addition for sure. I know plenty of kids that have worked with him and only heard great things. You can always recruit everyone and have 10 teams in the same age group like the Virginia Stars

Well Dave you have common sense and under stand how travel baseball works. Like you said VA Stars have 10 teams in 1 age group. Some coaches feel that a kid belongs to them when in fact just because you play for a team, it doesn't mean a player is yours.
Just like guesting, the respectable thing to do is ask like you and I have spoken about before, But at the end of the day, if a kid guests and your team isn't playing that weekend, then what can you really do?
Funniest thing i've heard is that coaches have told their parents they don't care about giving money back to parents at the end of the year since so much was paid or fundraised as long as the player leaving isn't going to Gambrills. To me that's just sad. Accept the fact that people will move on, and a lot of people like what Gambrills has to offer, and now with Juan being there it becomes even more of a draw.
