What are the WCAC and MIAA rules, if there are any, for High School coaches texting/calling middle school student-athletes? Thanks in advance for the information.

Check out: miaasports.net/miaa-regulations-guidelines/The info I think you're looking for is at the end of Page 1 and onto Page 2-3 (Recruitment, Middle School Students, etc). Might want to contact those buttociations though, to get confirmed answers.

Ok thanks for the information. It is pretty clear, but there is always some grey areas. I'm looking for specifics, like it is within WCAC/MIAA rules for a coach to text a 6th or 7th grade that hasn't applied to the school yet?
Sorry for remaining anonymous and not naming specific schools.

Sorry for remaining anonymous and not naming specific schools. In my experience, we had interest from three MIAA schools for my son, it was emails through the parent or snail mail invites to camps starting at 12u. One school approached him at the Elkridge Stars and Strikes and asked for parent’s contact information. Application time isn’t until December of eighth grade, so there could be contact before application time. No texts in our experience to parent or son.
