I would not be happy if a kid was added to a team that I had been playing for. What does that say to your current players? You aren’t good enough to play so we are going to bring someone in to play your position.

Well Loyalty it sounds like the tracks on repeat from guest players.
How about they all better get use to it. How about once they start in high school and come 10th grade there’s freshman coming behind them every year that want their job. How about players who transfer every year in high school and college. It’s another life lesson taught through the game of baseball.
But that’s not why this player was taken in. Anyone that’s been around this age group for a period of time knows it’s a great family great kid great player. But with all that said we had only rostered 11, we knew what had happened to us just weeks prior losing 2 kids the same day for 3 or more weeks. Playing with 9 sucks and kinda scary in my opinion.
But thanks again for worrying about Gambrills.
Thank you come again bye bye now.

You aren’t good enough to play so we are going to bring someone in to play your position. Exactly right! Coaches don't seem to understand this concept. Bringing in players, other than PO's, is a silent way to tell your positional players that you don't trust them. Also, coaches that do this...way to develop! If you spent the past several years coaching the players that you subbed for with guest players congrats to you. You win the shovel of the week award.

For starters, travel/showcase players pay thousands of dollars. The rosters are smaller than HS because the expectation is more playing time. How about the life lessons the coach is teaching by bringing in players to take over position spots from guys he has coached for several years. Thoughts on that?

You don’t pay 15-25k to go to private high school?
We are still at 10 kids, playing a high volume of games and tournaments.
Trust me no one is going to miss work. This is going to push players previously rostered to work even harder.
Crazy part is if you would ask any of our players they are stoked to have the player join our team.
It’s usually the parents that have the issues not the players.

I love how everyone loves to jump on what other teams do....
If your not on the team that is affected by this then who cares? Why are you on here to stir the pot?
You sound like a bunch of Karen’s.... get a life fellas.
Or atleast have the balls to go to the Facebook page and post as yourself and not continue to hide behind fake names.
And if you are on the team it affects and you come here to blow steam, I think the head coach has a wide open door policy and would be easy enough to contact to speak about your concerns, but I highly doubt it’s anyone from our camp that’s stirring the pot.

This is going to push players previously rostered to work even harder. Crazy part is if you would ask any of our players they are stoked to have the player join our team. It’s usually the parents that have the issues not the players. Private school tuition is for academics. Privates school will also tell you that any tuition buttistance is not athletic scholarships. So no, they don't pay thousands of dollars for playing time. They pay thousands of dollars of the educations. The parents have issues because they pay the bills. "You sound like a bunch of Karen’s.... get a life fellas." No need to get nasty and start name calling. We understand you feel like you need to defend gambrills because they are constantly being called out. When you resort to this, people are going to pour gas on the fire. "Or atleast have the balls to go to the Facebook page and post as yourself and not continue to hide behind fake names." Some like to stay anonymous because of our relationships with local high schools. Maybe we are coaches at the high school level. The forum board allows for anonymous posts and for very good reason. "And if you are on the team it affects and you come here to blow steam, I think the head coach has a wide open door policy and would be easy enough to contact to speak about your concerns, but I highly doubt it’s anyone from our camp that’s stirring the pot." Easier said than done. Many parents are afraid to speak up against it because they are afraid to lose more playing time. Some don't speak up because they understand time is dwindling down and this team will be separated eventually.

Yes sensitive I am going to defend my head coach.
When someone comes on and immediately stirs the pot saying we poached a player.
I seriously doubt your a high school coach coming on a forum to stir the pot further. This makes no sense.
We all know it May Day academic money, but when a school wants a player for sports they find a way to sweeten the pot and some more money comes along. Maybe not quite as much in baseball but we know it does in football and basketball.
But I do have some question since you seem to have so many answers......
We roster 11, added 1 so roster 12. Do the players still get more reps here than a team with 13-16? Have you ever been to our program and watched how hard we work our kids at practice? How many reps they get?

Tom, I can find the part where Sally says they are. I think sally was trying to say that HS coaches frequent the famous Md Youth forum.
