Two of the most important words when coaching youth sports.
Or you can make it all about yourself and they learn nothing about life.
Went to a tournament this weekend and all I heard was negativity coming out of the coaches mouths. One coaching staff was paid the other was not.
Parents yelling at their kids, complaints about other kids on their own team.
When does all this the madness stop? FYI- it’s a team sport and you should be setting an example!!

Morals out pretty much out the door because everyone is trying to keep up with the Joneses. They'll tell you that if you're kid isn't on a select team by age 10, he can pretty much forget about playing in high school. The most aggressive and shrewdest coach gets the best players. After all, its a huge advantage to bat 9 kids in a game instead of 11, and let the 2 least talented on the team serve as bench/reserves. Is a "star" player's parents unhappy with the current team because they're not winning enough? That coach that beat you 15-3 last week is waiting to swoop in, and will even offer a $1000 discount off of the normal $2500 fee help grease the wheels. Talking trash to the umpire, and other team's coaches and players, is a hobby for some parents now. They don't feel like they've done their part unless someone has to come over and ask them to shut up. They they can get in on the action too!! Plus the coaches need to win, or they're going to lose little Johnny that's hitting .543 this year with a slugging percentage of 1.026 to the guy two counties over that owns his own workout facility and has guaranteed hookups with college coaches.
