12u Elkridge Orange is looking to add a player to our roster who will stay committed to the team and parents that wont be swayed from other teams coaching staffs as we lost one of our kids to Diamond Elite last night. Please reach out to our head coach if interested in a private workout.

Why did said kid go to DE? What was offered there that wasn't offered with your team? Or did they go because DE is winning?

You know in any break up it’s always easier to blame the other side but if you just look inside yourself and ask what can I do better you’ll usually find your answer

But I guess DE gets the players to stay on there team where SW only gets them for one tournament and plays them over there players

Shame on you parents for allowing your son to quit on the team. Think about the impact this has on the team.
A team chooses a certain amount for a reason. Losing a player can have significant impacts.
You couldn’t wait a month and do it the right way? At the end of the season!!!
Shame on you

Should we get the manager for you to speak to?

Shame on you for trying to make these parents feel some type of way for doing I’m sure what they feel is best for their son. Why should they hold their kid back if others aren’t holding up there end of the deal.

It probably was not a black or white decision for them. Maybe the coaching staff said they where going to do things a certain way this Fall and then pulled a 180. Maybe the parents got caught up in wanting to win plastic trophies. Maybe people should mind their own freaking business and find another hobby. Would I move my kid mid season? No. But I'm not going to fault another parent for doing it. It is their call. Perhaps the coaching staff should look at why this kid left instead of the pbuttive aggressive "who will stay committed to the team and parents that wont be swayed from other teams coaching staffs". One thing I've noticed is that commitment is a two way street. A lot of Orgs talk about it when a kid leaves but don't mind letting that player rot in right field. Was this kid a really good ball player who couldn't get a crack at coveted position because of Daddy Ball coaching? Or maybe he or the parents were a pain in arse and the coaches were holding him back for those reasons.
Point is, it doesn't matter what team your kid plays for right now. Make sure your he/she is playing against a level of competition that is challenging for them, that they are getting good instruction and reps are distributed accordingly.
Best of luck to this kid going forward.

What if the coach brought a kid in to play every game and benched your kid. That coach would never hear the end of it.
But it’s ok for the parent to take a kid off the team

Think of the team first. The team has a kid get sick or hurt and your down to 9 players. How is that fair to his teammates?
Honor a commitment you made to his teammates.
Parents always messing things up!

Parents always messing things up! I agree you need to think of the team but, and I'm not involved with this team in anyway, what if the team isn't thinking of the player. If you don't think that happens then I've got some waterfront property to sell ya!

I would never allow my kid to leave a team like that . However this is a free country and travel baseball is basically unsanctioned and has no rules or ethics in some cases. The only organization I know of that tries to curb this and has the best intentions is MABA - and I know some who don’t like MABA because of it(imagine that)
Also don’t know about the Elkridge situation but maybe there is a valid reason the kid leff.? I have encountered a couple coaches in the past where it wouldn’t have surprised me if kids left (even during the season) I can think of a few teams that come to mind who had coaches who were jerks(to be nice) whose teams either had high turnover or disbanded (although not during mid season)
So Elkridge got poached- now they have to poach themselves Good luck
PS good like trying to find 12 kids who will be committed to your team(or any team) after 12u
