Received a sad tid bit of information today. How are coaches of a 14U team allowing their players to swing drop 5 and drop 8 bats? As coaches and parents we must do better and stop setting our players up for failure as they must use bbcor in almost every league or tournament at 14U and will most definitely in high school.
If your player can’t swing bbcor because of the weight then you have to get the player in the weight room.

Try putting a Meta in their hands. These little guys can barely get the end loaded beast around. Amazing that all these Dads know sooooo much about baseball and nothing about bats.

There’s a lot a accusations on here so I will try to answer them. I think I know who made them too but I’m not even going to worry about him. Firstly, there has been no coach get on here to run his mouth about being a top team. We don’t really worry about it. We have stayed in our lane since 9u. We have had only one tryout and have almost the same kids and parents that we started with. We enjoy each other our journey with the young men that we have been blessed to coach. We have had one parent voice his opinion on where he thinks we stack up against other teams in the state and that’s his right and opinion. Secondly, I buttume this person is referring to this pbutt weekend when we played Gambrills and Tide. So I will give some details. We have 13 kids on our roster and we where missing several as happens in the fall. My understanding Gambrills was missing a few as well. Not sure about the Tide. For the second game we were missing 5 of our better players We had 13u players in our Organization filling in to give us 9 for the Tide game. I’m not sure if the one uses a drop 8 or not. Its possible because I was on vacation with my son who was missing as well. I believe we have maybe 2-3 kids of the 13 rostered kids that may have used a drop 5 this year. The rest used a drop 3 at 13u. So if you’re really concerned about our kids development you can rest easy at night and know everything will be ok. If your upset about losing, someone else having success, your teams rankings, etc. I can’t help you there. That’s something you will have to work out for yourself. This isn’t the first time you have tried to throw us into all the travel drama. We would wish you would keep your opinions to yourself next time.

Jon
First i applauded you for taking the high road on this one.
I wasn’t able to be at the games this past weekend as my younger son had a tournament but as you stated we were missing several players this weekend, and some it was their first time on the diamond in a few weeks due to football. From speaking to my son and the other coaches at Gambrills you guys played some solid ball, and I heard none of us got much of a strike zone with the ump having a 6inch by 6 inch box to throw in for a strike.
I’m not sure who you believe to of called you out but welcome to the club, and good on the 13U players for playing up and grabbing a dub. This is the first time in I believe a very long time Gambrills and the warriors have faced off.
You guys down in Southern MD have some talented ball players, and usually some pretty darn big boys to.
Wish I would have got the chance to be there and see Chris Caddens Tide team. Have had some amazing games over the years against the tide from our days with Lakeshore to even now at Gambrills. Chris and his staff have done a great job with those boys. Dave (aka jesus) moser has done a great job with the throwing program he designed for the players on that team even though he doesn’t coach full time anymore because of his job. Those guys have done it the right way and have always been clbutty.
Best of luck the rest of the way and welcome to the club!

Steve, I have seen some of the back in forth on here and being in the south we are mostly out it. Since most of the top teams are north. We have always had a good relationship with Tide and some good games for the each team to develop. The senators have come a long way in the last two years so we’re starting to get some solid teams down here. But we have definitely enjoyed the competition of the teams north and look forward to next spring. You guys definitely had an very impressive year. We wish you guys a good 14u season as well and hope to play in the spring.

Well said. We need to play each other more and cut the going back and forth over nothing out. The problem is there’s a select few who like to come on here stir the pot and then throw the blame on others. At the end of the day our goal should be this : 1- teach the game the right way 2- teach the life lessons that come from baseball 3- develop the future leaders of our communities 4- develop well rounded baseball players and help get the next level or beyond. 5- build relationships as coaches where we can trust each other enough that if your in a bind you can call another coach and if their not playing grab a guest player if your team is short. ( Chris Cadden called me in a bind and needed my son, Billt Laird Delmarva aces had players hurt needed a guest and he got a guest, and what happened we were short for perfect game and aces sent us 2 players) The board breeds hate and some people live off of Misery instead of building the sport across the state.
