I have been coaching for years and it pains me to hear the term “Fall Ball”, does anyone call it spring or summer ball? What I have come to realize that during the season of “Fall Ball” some teams are trying out kids, some getting used to new additions and some just working on getting reps. In my opinion all are very good reasons to address the Fall season. But should the season change how you coach or how parents address the season? I think most coaches use the time to rotate kids to multiple positions and pitching is usually restricted, unless teams are chasing a W. But as parents, I think the additiude of Fall Ball is some what pushed on the kid that it doesn’t matter. Wins and Losses don’t matter, but the ability to compete and play to the best of your ability does. The way we as coaches and parents address a game or practice is a direct influence to how these kids perform. So let’s just call it “Baseball” and move on.

Never been around a team that treated Fall baseball like it didn't matter. However due to issues with daylight, kids playing other sports and in most cases less games it's just not the same as in the spring. But agree with your point if the coach/parents aren't "all in" it will filter down to the kids.
