Where is the Calvert Tide? Have to be at least above LF Archers who are in 6th place in MABA(which besides Gambrills when one of their aces is pitching doesn't have any high level teams this year)

Where is the Calvert Tide? Have to be at least above LF Archers who are in 6th place in MABA(which besides Gambrills when one of their aces is pitching doesn't have any high level teams this year) Calvert Tide has 6 known losses this year to ranked teams and several of those losses to teams that aren't ranked high. When rankings teams there has to be a specific criteria taken into account: 1) Head to Head, 2) Common Opponents, 3) Accomplishments. While Calvert Tide has a head to head over Gambrills (they are actually 1-1 vs each other since 12u), Gambrills has beaten teams Calvert has lost to. Furthermore, LF is only 6th in the MABA rankings due to number of wins. MABA only ranks based on wins. It is not a true standings. While LF will most likely drop in rankings due to some recent losses, can you further elaborate why Calvert Tide should be ranked higher? Please explain and reference their record. I know Calvert has a loss to Rawlings, and Rawlings has several losses to very low teams.

Agreed that the Tide deserves to be higher on this list. However they did go thru a mid season slump and took a couple bad losses. One of them was on a pool day and I'm sure they were saving pitching. That's one of the things that makes this ranking system difficult to do. Tournament success on Sunday should be weighted a bit more especially in these events where all the teams make the top flight. Those without a ton of depth at the pitcher position save the arms for the next day and really don't care where they seed.

Gambrills fan.....What is your thought about the rankings shake up after this past weekend? Looks like there should be some movement in the standings based on the first half of the stars and strikes event.

In just an hour of looking at results it looks more like this. Head to head alone is crazy, but common opponents really throws things off. I included gamechanger records, which don't mean much cause teams put scrimmages and exhibition games on there as well.
In my opinion the top 3 are clear cut. Then we have 4-12 or 4-15 that could win on any given day. There are a lot situations like A beats B, C beats A, but B beats C.
1. South River-Green (17-0) 2. White Marsh 3. EvoShield Canes- Maxwell 4. Delmarva Aces East (20-3) 5. Mid-Maryland United (14-7) 6. Mid-Atlantic Redsox (20-7) 7. Calvert Tide (10-6) 8. Blue Chips 9. BCC Big Train 10. Gambrills Aces (16-5)
Sitting right on the outside of those rankings are UMAC Attack, Williamsport, Rawlings Black, API, Elkridge, HCYP, Sykesville, BCCC, BCC Big Train, Complete Game Academy.

The 13u should take a page out the 10u book. They are discussing a season ending incitational of the top teams in MD to really see how they all stack up against each other. This would be fun for us to do at 13u. Het the best of the best, live draw double elimination and duke it out.
Any takers?

Sorry about the spelling errors in the last post.
And for the record im glad to see delmarva east on the list. They are very good but just dont have many common opponents. Any win against that team is a good win, they are very talented.

Any win against that team is a good win, they are very talented. I did some research on them and they actually have a very good win over Tri-State Arsenal. That was a common opponent link for some teams. I would love to see a top 16 tournament for the 13u age group. There is a enough information that the tournament can properly be seeded with a coaches meeting. Can take the top 12 and do it if need be. With the top 12, Saturday Morning would look like this: 8. Blue Chips vs 9. BCC Big Train 5. Mid-Maryland United vs. 12. Rawlings A's 7. Calvert Tide vs. 10. Gambrills Aces 6. Mid-Atlantic Red Sox vs. 11. Sykesville Cyclones Saturday Afternoon or evening: Top Bracket Quarterfinal round: 1. South River vs. Blue Chips/BCC Big Train 4. Delmarva Aces vs. Mid-Maryland United/Rawlings A's Bottom Bracket Quarterfinal round: 2. White Marsh vs. Calvert Tide/Gambrills 3. EvoShield Canes vs. Mid-Atlantic Red Sox/Sykesville Cyclones Sunday morning: Semifinal top bracket Semifinal bottom bracket Sunday afternoon/evening: Finals

Also glad to see Delmarva added to the list, they are top five no doubt.
Mid-Altlantic Shockers should also be added. At 12u they were the (one of ) best in the state. Their record is not good but they have lost several games to a top team from NJ and have only played a handful of games. They beat Sykesville 15-0 but I think that is their b squad.

I think they should be too, but I don't know where to put them. Yes that was Sykesvilles B team. My guess is they should sit somewhere between 6-8. Word on the street is they aren't the same team as they were at 12u and have fallen off a tad due to losing a few players. That's what I have heard and if anyone has any other info on Shockers that would be great.

Shockers is not at all the same team this season. They lost players to south River and Delmarva east here in MD. They would not likely crack the top 10
