Going to be a good day of baseball in Lakeshore tomorrow. Lots of good teams battling. Should be up to the pitchers with the new footage!

Shocker Diamond Elite lost to Sykesville Navy but they walked through the bracket wasn’t no competition for them there. Throw your Diamond In the Sky 🤷🏻♂️

Did they really embarrbutt LS in their own tournament? And then follow it up with a W vs RBA? Congrats API ... looks like they are moving up in the rankings. Jmo

API will be able to prove if they are legit this Saturday playing Olney and Gambreels.
Seemed like a lot of weird baseball this past weekend.
The hot stove of 13U baseball is starting to buzz

This site automatically changes all instances of "a-s-s" with "b-u-t-t" (without the dashes) even if it is in the middle of a word like embarra-s-s.

The hot stove of 13U baseball is starting to buzz Olney was the best from 8-12U. Moving to the big field it’s a new ball game. Pun intended. Plus looking at GC Olney seems to only have 10-11 kids ? Not sure how pitching will work in a decent bracket like this weekend...Gambrills got WAXED this weekend , but guess what ? It happens. API is on a roll. Wouldn’t be surprised if they walk away with it this weekend. All dogs have their days. People also forget these are 12-13 year old boys. Never know which ones will show up ....

Think your analysis of Olney is dead on, but seems this happens a lot at this age. Parents want their kids on winning teams, but when Mikey isn’t playing enough in the infield or throwing 5 innings a weekend off the mound they go to the next team even if that team is far less superior just to get Mikey more time at a position or for him to be the best player on the team not be the third or fourth best player on the team. Parents have the biggest reality check coming when their kids go to high school not the players. There’s no more changing teams because your kid doesn’t get the playing time you want, or play the position you want them to play. Private school coaches find out if the parents are a cancer/ organization jumper, and if so they won’t take your kid so you may be hurting them more than helping. When your kid has played for 4 or 5 teams (not guesting) since 9U maybe it’s time to say it’s not the team it’s time.
The next line- Waxing, is loosing two game by a total of 7 runs really a waxing? As you stated never know what kids at 12-13 will show up game to game. Definitely not a good showing by a team who’s suppose to be one of the best teams in the state. Taking a couple of loses may be what that team needs to get the fire back.
Definitely should be a good baseball this weekend looking at the lineup of teams at HCYP.

Just a realistic note here on API since I was an actual witness to them. They are a very good team, quality boys, coaches and parents. 1 or 2 of the boys came from Curlz (former PG coach/program) and man that guy has the boys turned around and such nice kids and playing the game right. I hear he is in tee-ball level now with his youngest - that is a group of kids who will benefit from him for years to come. We enjoyed playing them and it was one "bad" inning per team (if you call it a bad inning giving up the walks and hits, it's baseball) and they coached extremely well and found a way to play little small ball and stay ahead after they pulled ahead early in the game. Was very good baseball to be part of, coach and watch. They have a very solid roster, some new kids from other programs and their prior kids, and they have pitching depth they did it right not overusing a single pitcher from what I saw all weekend and batting their roster all weekend as well. It will be fun playing them this coming year and in the future. My buttessment is that they battle well against anyone in the top "rankings" and have a shot to go deep and win any given weekend with their team as currently buttembled (It's still my belief that no powerhouse PG top 25 national team exists in MD's top 20 yet...it's anybody's ball game on a given day). And of course, as commented above, 12/13 YO boys will also have their off games, days and weekends. Great job by API. Very fun end of the weekend.

Brian
Who is Curlz? What program did these kids come From?
Seems that API gets stronger as the age groups go up as the present the showcase style program for older kids compared to most the local organizations that most of us belong to.
API definitely can play small ball and does it well.

He stepped away from what one of the boys was telling me to coach his youngest in Tee Ball. Playing them in 10u and 11u he had the team and I just found it tremendous what he did with the group of boys. It was always a pleasure to play them as a result. I agree w/you re: API. API Blue going back about 5 years ago when my oldest was 14u had a top talent team in MD and came on strong and stayed strong along with 5 or 6 other teams through the high school years.

I took my son out of that program last year because the coach wouldn't travel out of his 90 mile radius. Same is true with the coaches now. Many of the best players leave and go play at other places. The older api team is pretty much comprised of all Spaulding players but the best Spaulding kids don't play there cause they know the exposure is simply not there.
