Bottom line is the REC team that takes the first pitch every at bat won’t win until they get some coaches that don’t act like huligans and actually know baseball.

I mean, it is pretty courageous to take shots at a team behind some bull 💩💩screen name. Have a set, put your name to it.

Hasn’t that’s the way it’s always been Dave, no one can stamp their name on anything now a days and we wonder why our kids grow up soft.

How are you going to sit behind a screen with a fake name and talk about a bunch of 12 yr olds about how they are a “rec” team. Baseball parents are soft

Hi Everyone,
We (RBA) are only in a couple of local MD tournaments this year also. We opted out of Cooperstown and we are going to be playing from DE down to Georgia (PG) and all of the states in between. Just trying to continue to develop the boys and see as much action and challenge against teams we can learn from as we can. Our team has a similar make up with 1 player we dropped and 2 we picked up. 2 of our top pitchers are also healthy again this year and pre-season tourneys they are looking up with plus velocity (knock on wood for the health of all players under all coaches on this board). We played the last 2 seasons without throwing any curve balls. We introduced that this winter and also in first 4 games yesterday it's looking like a big plus (though we will use it appropriately and not go away from CU it is effective as we have seen from most of the other teams the last 2 years).
We will use CRAB to develop and get guys innings on the bump as it is designed to better prepare all of the boys including the bottom 3rd for deep tournament play.
Hickory should be on the list. No question in my mind. They were very injured/depleted last year and they battled game in and game out with most/all of the teams on this list. They are a high quality team with excellent coaching and will be very good this season I suspect.
Unlike a lot of the other counties we just don't have the crop up here to have a whole lot of players moving from team to team and so forth. So our changes are very incremental in nature and hopefully most of our improvement is through the hard work and dedication of the boys to become better, which I believe they are, and knowing the coaches on this forum/age all of the other teams returners are also going to be further improved.
Good luck to everyone and hope to see most of you this spring and summer! Glad baseball is back!
Brian

As someone mentioned above I have a weekend we could put together this tournament in June. Not much outside of that unfortunately. But in all honestly it is the only way we can see who is where at this point because most tournaments are all over the place with this group, which is a great thing in my opinion.
We only added 1 person this year. Unfortunately we dont' have the big draw like other areas in the state, we are a small area and that is what we get for turnouts with tryouts. Most of these teams on this list have gotten better from what I have seen. I don't put too much into the fall or non tournament games. We, and I would like to think other teams do the same, use non tournament baseball and the fall to develop and get more reps for the players that don't get as many during tournaments. I know we flip our lineup completely for weekday games to maximize at bats for some kids. Can't wait to see everyone this season and hopefully battle through some tight ones with everyone.

I agree with everything you say but I want Shockers on a field not located at SATB. I think Olney holds down the 1 and from there it’s a roll of the dice on each day. No clue what RBA or Shockers or Aces added, but knowing what we added to a team that was #4 at the end of last season, I’m looking forward to a fun and competitive season as we are only playing 2 local tournaments the rest diamond nation perfect game satb Ripken and triple crown, so the record may not be as good as some teams that don’t play as competitive of a schedule. Shockers have played on several different locations on bigger fields 250+ with big walls and had same outcome so I don’t think it’s SATB that makes them win .

The season starts in a couple of days! Good luck to everyone!
Early season tournaments will have some people guessing, who cares about preseason rankings, let's see who is on top at the end of the season.

Best matchup that I know of this weekend... good luck to anyone stopping Olney at this point, strongest team top to bottom that I’ve seen in a while.

Teams still playing this weekend? Can't imagine the liability behind that.
