Well... how long do you think the kids wont be able to play? Annapolis Open/Chesapeake Challenge tournaments coming up 3/28 and 3/29... think those tournaments actually happen?

Be surprised if any tournaments are played before June and that’s optimistic. Especially since most tournaments have teams from different states- think there would be a lot of backlash. I read somewhere baseball was one of the safest sports regarding spread of viruses. Not sure I agree- bunch of kids touch the same baseball and 12 kids and 3-4 coaches cramped in the dugout. Hope I’m wrong though

I'm with you oldtimer. I hate to say think it but the high school season is probably done (terrible for seniors and also for juniors hoping to showcase a litte before deep summer ball). I am hopeful we play baseball this summer but I am guessing it is going to be June as well if they can flatten the curve in the next 4 weeks that is. At this point I am for the first time ever going to look at getting multi-sport kids to consider some Aug/Sept/early Oct baseball as a fallback plan to a 50% or less season. Mid-season form will not been known for most teams until mid July if this unfolds the way it is looking (or later). Again, best of health and welfare wishes to those out here...

There is also a possibility (again hope I’m wrong again) that travel baseball will be drastically different if this outbreak goes on for an extended period of time. We are looking at a devastated economy with mbuttive job losses. Some people with certain jobs will be okay but many will not. Families may not have the money to pay for the costs anymore.

My guess would be maybe something in fall - possibly scrimmages or 2 teams playing each other( no round robins or tournaments) Wouldn’t be surprised if actual travel( playing teams from other states) is done until 2023. Also think high school sports are done for foreseeable future. Maybe if we are lucky there will be spring sports played in 2022. Does anyone think the health experts will sanction HS football or basketball or wrestling without a major medical breakthrough?

Always look for a positive in the negative..... so many 12 year olds won’t be overused in Cooperstown

Some coaches with make up for the lack of pitches in the Fall or next Spring or whenever the kids get back on the field

Curious to see updated rankings for 12u. The Garrett Timber Rattlers should move into the top 10. They lost to RBA Royals by 3 in Sports at the Beach, they led the entire game until the 5th. Last weekend they beat Mid Atlantic Red Sox (preseason #6) 13-1 in 5 innings only giving up 2 hits. They are 15-4 and have 2 championships and a runner up in 3 tournaments.

Correction led Royals from top of 2 until bottom 5 and they’ve been in 4 tournaments not 3.

Looks like the timber rattlers are definitely playing good baseball, and came from no where. The Redsox pre season #6 look to be having a ruff year being 9-12.
The rankings this year will be hard to do with so many teams not playing as much baseball, and teams hiding their losses on gamechanger and a lot of teams not using gamechanger anymore just not sure why?
