For all you guys commenting on this post. For the people who think that this is just a fall tournament you don't know us or follow us. This is our 15th tournament. We condition for this. We have played 5 days a week all year. And for the pitcher who threw 125 pitches he works hard then any 11u kid in the state of Maryland. If you think differently come see for yourself. Thanks for your comments and keep playing playing your Maba league and 15 games a year. You can’t condition an 11 year old to throw 125 pitches you moron I'd rather my kid play 15 games a year and be able to play when he is 18 than throw 125 pitches, while catching all weekend so some coach can collect a plastic 2nd place trophy. I wanted to give Diamond Elite the benefit of the doubt but that's out the window. No wonder the kid that plays shortstop hardly pitches for your team. His parents probably saw what your coaches were all about and laid down the law. You guys are worthless.

No one is flipping over the Elkridge kid that threw somewhere in the same range on Saturday. What about the tournament screwing these kids and not giving them a fence for their field? 2 of DE’s hits were prob over the fence if they had the correct fields!

On top of the 125 pitches that makes it even worse. If I had a child at 11 who threw curve balls he would be benched. I bet the coaches were cheering him on. What a shame

Not like he pitches 122 pitches an outing. Just up and take your kid to Rec ball!!!

I follow Diamond Elite and looked through the last 15 games or so and no the kid has thrown no where near the pitch count he threw Sunday. Look forward to seeing those 2 teams to battle it out again

I’ve been around baseball a long time. Played the game for over 20 years and have been coaching for over 10 years now. I can’t believe you have the balls to call yourself a coach after letting this young man throw 122 pitches and on top of that 40% of his pitches were curveballs. Not only did he throw that many pitches he also caught all 3 games prior to that. Shameful and you should seriously consider stepping down as a coach. Real coaches don’t do that to their players. You owe that young man and his parents an apology.

I hope the parents of the kid who threw 122 pitches reads this. PITCH SMART GUIDELINES!!! Every player and team should follow and build their team to adhere to the PS guidelines. home.gc.com/pitchsmart/Too many dead arms in high school because 10-12 year olds think they can “condition” to throw this much. This kid exceeded the max one day for an 11 year old by 37 pitches. Don’t get me started about 40 curveballs. Before anyone says “ But if you throw it right”... this is BS. No kid is going to throw in a way that will not stress the still developing elbow/shoulder muscles. I think we’re looking at the next high school.lacrosse player conversion with this kid after he realizes his arm is toast at 15.

Where’s Elkridges coach because it happened over there too. Is this all that anyone is getting from that game or any of the games from this tournament?

Look man, I hate the whole "participation trophy" culture as well but to think that 122 pitches for an 11 year old is acceptable is ridiculous. Just because a coach sticks to decent pitching guidelines doesn't make him fragile. If anything it show you are nothing but ....well you are nothing. You obviously have some screwed up view of what it takes to be tough. I hope the dude who runs Diamond Elite that was on this board a few months ago talking about what fine coaches they have comes back. I'd love to hear it from him that throwing a kid that much after he caught all weekend is acceptable but he probably won't. He knows its wrong. Best of luck to that kid. He obviously doesn't have anyone looking out for his best interest.
