This is child abuse. Any coach that would throw a kid under the age of 15 more than 100 pitches in one game is a moron. If you’re going to put the word Elite in your name, than be superior to the completion around you. Don’t pull this crap. You’re not very elite if you need to ride one horse in a championship game 100+ pitches against ANOTHER LOCAL TEAM!!!! Try going to a PG or TC event. Play teams that have 7-9 legit pitchers and watch how it’s done. Come back to MD and be an example for the other teams. Any excuse made for this is BS. He’s conditioned, he won’t pitch again for a week, etc... All irrelevant. The damage was done and this seems to be a habit from what I read and hear about Lake Shore Diamond Elite.
This coach should be fired. But that won’t happen. All of these one off teams popping up every year. A bunch of Daddy-ball coaches that break free from whatever rec org they tried to play travel ball with at 8-9 years old.
What a joke. I hope the parents of this kid see some of these posts and pull him from this team before his arm is done.

Diamond Elite pitchers threw a lot less pitches then other teams in the tournament. Before everyone blast DE look up Baltimore Baseball Club #13 who threw 163 total on Sunday alone. It was a good game just said the tournament forced 3-4 games in one day on teams with a holiday on Monday.

No damage has been done and the fact that you’re on this thread trying to be a doctor of sorts only proves that you should be wearing big floppy shoes and a red nose. Diamond elites coaches do Nothing but care for the well being and safety of these kids. The kid was dealing. He felt good so they kept him in. Nothing more to it. You’re probably one of those parent who’s kid got cut from an elite team and now seaking revenge on coaches who put A talented squad on the field. Go take your son to play soccer. Soccer dad!!!

The stats are wrong. Heck #10 didn’t even pitch

At the end of the day its on the parents to step in. The coaches should be looking out for the kids but a parent has to step in there. There is no way I would allow my kid to throw that many pitches for any team. One game at 11 years old is not that important

Dear Diamond Elite Fan:
"Diamond elites coaches do Nothing but care for the well being and safety of these kids" But throws a 11 year old 122 pitches in one game. "No damage has been done" If this keeps happening a few times a year, let's see how the kid looks when he's in high school. All the experts agree that the damage won't reveal itself until the teen years.
"Seaking" this must be a new word that I have never heard. I think this kid that threw 122 pitches should be SEEKING a new team for the sake of his arm!!! Free Jackson!!!

[/quote Hey look now the spelling police are here too! This thread is a moot point. BBC has a kid throw 130+ and we can’t talk about it but we want to free the DE kid. Interesting!

where's the game on GC that shows a BBC kid throwing 130 pitches? Not disputing, just want to see it in black and white. with all of the data out there about youth arm injuries showing their ugly face as a teenager, why would anyone throw a kid more than 85 pitches in one game? This is crazy. I guess they don't care about baseball when it really matters....on the 90ft diamond in high school hopefully getting the attention of a D1-3 school, save a little $$$ on college, etc? Oh and I love the "he felt good so they left him in" comment from DE Fan. What part of the damage doesn't show until years later is so fricking hard to understand? Show me any data that shows that it is ok to throw a kid this much in one setting? Go ahead, google it...I'll wait.

[b You have to go in and look at the games they played vs the other teams that have a GameChanger that they played and it’s right there. Seems like several teams are doing it. Is it right? No but it’s not just DE that this happened. Several teams did the same and this thread is only blowing up one team and one kid and that’s not cool. Plus it’s not a typical thing for them to do as I looked back on that kids numbers If you hop on their GameChanger . Lots of games without him at all. Doesn’t make it totally ok but I think people need to chill out. Maybe these tournaments will make a rule like some do on pitch counts. Shouldn’t have to but it’s a solution. Food for thought.

If the BBC coach had a kid throw 130+ in a single game, that's obviously worse. It was over 2 games. Apples to apples. The numbers are the same. Let’s all do better and move on and hope that no “damage” was done. And let the kids play ball!

the whole conditioning a 11 year old to pitch that many pitches is funny but in all reality the blame falls on the parents ...period. They have the final say in the matter. These days they are to concerned about what they are going to brag about on Facebook than the kids future
