Why is this still being discussed a week later? *yawn* Get out and go do something with your kids rather than be keyboard warrior bullies against people you don’t even know. Look, we all learn from our mistakes and it shouldn’t have happened and I believe the DE coach said it won’t again. Suddenly that’s not good enough and now the issue is the parents. Every team from youth sports to professional have obnoxious fans, so get over it and just be you and don’t worry about anyone else. If kids in sports at this level can’t handle heckling (and I don’t personally do or approve of it) they shouldn’t advance any further and definitely shouldn’t play high school, college or pro. They also sell ear plugs at many area stores like Walgreens, Target and evening 7/11. If something happens you don’t like on field or off maybe go have an adult conversation, if someone can’t be an adult and hear you out walk away and know you’re the bigger person. Going online and trashing people is stupid, nothing constructive has come from it, kind of like the rioting and looting in our great American cities. Im personally new to all of this, and all I want is my kid to play the sport he loves, have coaches to build him up rather than bring him down, prepare him for his future and be able to travel and watch great baseball games. DE, BCC, BCCC, and all the other teams (including those without acronyms) seem to have great kids, good competition and fun. There is always a winner and a loser, but you can always learn no matter what happens. But why can’t we all just get along??

Took me awhile to read all of this and catch up. It seems like people are upset with one parent mainly. I am at every game and I don’t ever witness our parents yelling at the other teams pitchers. Ever. The only loud cheering is if our pitcher is up and they are cheering him on. Does it annoy some people? Sure but why is it not allowed to cheer for your child? What suggestion do you have for him? How much cheering is acceptable? I think parents take it as they are messing with the other team when all he’s doing is loving his kid. He doesn’t have an intention of intimidating the other kids. I can seriously attest to this because he did the same thing when we played them when he was on an opposing team. We were like woah that guy is loud but his heart is with his kid. He doesn’t mean any ill will. Other than that, I never see or hear anything and I would be the first to tell people to stop it. The boys don’t scream cheers the whole game, they just cheer each other on. And the top competition question .. De has played a wide range of teams. I think we should all just be happy that during these times the kids could play. They played where they could when baseball first opened back up. They played in Pigeon Forge and went 7-1. I know the haters will say oh no one good goes to Ripken but either way they still played kids this age and represented our state and showed that Maryland has some great teams out here. Lastly, Coach Steve is a great coach. He owns his mistakes. He wasn’t making excuses he was explaining himself and of course people pick it apart.
